Myself having anxieties with going to the doctors office and having a fear of needles, it is easy to put myself into the dogs experience on the grooming table. I take into account each dogs age, conformation and past grooming experience, and fears they may have developed or may not have encountered. I would rather take the extra time to rehabilitate a dog to accept and behave properly while getting groomed through gentle but firm and fair handling and re-training methods, Not through mistreatment and bullying or the use of prescribed sedatives. Many dogs can be rehabilitated to enjoy or at least tolerate the grooming procedure thus being less stressful on the dog, owner and not to mention the groomer. I also couple my grooming methods with teaching the owners how to be a calm assertive leader to the dog and educating you the dog's owner on how to be a calm assertive pack leader. Also giving advice about how to handling daily coat and skin care to how to help your groomer rehabilitate or train your dog or puppy to accept being handled in a manner that most vets and groomers handle pets for visits. This helps your pet in return to be comfortable and relaxed being held and restrained which might other wise induce panic in many family pets.
