| Berg Wander Training philosophy Not all dogs are created equal; Just as with people, personalities within even the same dog breeds vary and many influences can effect and shape how our dogs will respond to teachings and learning’s that we try to introduce into their daily life, Berg Wander All Breed Dog Training offers dog training suited to your dogs’ personality. Because not all dogs are raised or brought up equal I tailor my training methods to suit all different temperaments, some dogs are sensitive/ shy or have anxiety and require a “softer” approach with lots of encouragement, treats and praise (the positive approach), some are forward and curious with no signs of aggression or square body postures and will require firm but loving leadership so as not to discourage that curiosity and courage. (This is called The consequence/reward method), Dogs’ with out rules and boundaries learn that they want to be the leaders of the pack and thus are more aggressive or assertive and will try to challenge you or anyone else for the leadership position through a Dog boot camp or NILIF training (The Nothing in Life is free training) I can help you change the way your dog views your leadership position over him or her. We start first with a telephone or in-person consultations, during this conversation; I will ask you many questions regarding your pet’s health. Age and habits, behavior Issues, what behaviors your pet is displaying and what behaviors you would like to have changed, (please be honest as this will effect the outcome and results of training). Next we schedule a 30 to 45-minuet in person Evaluation of your dog (Location of this free evaluation will depend if the dog is having issues in the home or outside the home.) (Group class students may or may not receive a free evaluation) During your dogs’ evaluation I view how you and your family and the dog interact together, with the methods you currently use to communicate to your dog or puppy the behaviors you would like it to display. I give out a type of homework which will involve daily training and exercise sometimes Seperate and sometimes these are coupled together to achieve the better training program for your individual dog. I also ask of my students if a certain method is not working to please inform the instructor of such a problem so we may find some other approach that will work. Many dog owners are turning to the Remote dog training collars or Electric collars for help in training their dogs. The remote training collar is not a magic fix. Also many people do not realize as with your computer and other electronic devices the same applies with E collars YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Many people are buying the lower end no brand name Pet training models and finding that the product after a short time does not work properly sending a signal and not fully holding a charge or not being strong enough. For this reason it is recommend that you invest in a good product. I myself use Dogtra. The E collar can be very helpful to train avoidance of Certain behaviors , for example, barking non stop, getting on the table counter chewing of forbidden items. For Command training with a remote training collar many people do not realize that much mental damage can be done to the dog if the dog does not have a understanding before hand of what the commands are to begin with. For this reason it is recommended to seek out a trainer that can help with incorporating the E collar into your training program after a basic obedience group class training or private instruction then the dog has a 100% understanding and knowledge of what the commands are and the dog owner can learn how to safely use one on their dog to communicate to their dog with out causing a build up of aggression or anxiety. If you are interested in learning more about E collars and how to properly use one to its fullest advantage please contact me before using or buying one.
